Your wallpapers are kind of a goofy resolution ^_^ You might want to try 1024x768, which is a fairly standard resolution, or 1280x1024. Better to stretch down than stretch up.
It's also a good idea to actually start even bigger with a widescreen resolution, and then make a clipped-down version for standard resolution monitors. A good resolution for this is 1680x1050.
